FEATURE EDITOR'S NOTE
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) affect the majority of the population around the world in one way or another. Though not new, the concept has become more discussed in recent years. ACEs can potentially have long-term health effects on our patients, yet the concept is not explicitly detailed in the accreditation standards of US physician assistants (PA). This article aims to detail the importance of ACEs and the incorporation of ACEs into PA curriculum. —Mary Showstark, MPAS, PA-C
Journal of Physician Assistant Education is dedicated to advancing physician assistant (PA) education by publishing ethically produced, scholarly manuscripts germane to PA educators and by providing a forum for the sharing of ideas and innovations that will enhance the education of PA students.
